CBNNews.com - RAMALLAH, West Bank - Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas threatened to call off peace negotiations with Israel if a solution isn't reached by year's end.

"We will negotiate until the end of the year and then the president will review our options," Rafik Husseini, the PA president's chief of staff, told The Jerusalem Post.

What Israelis Think about Dividing Jerusalem

"Without a deal on Jerusalem," Husseini said, "there will not be a peace deal at all."

Former PA Prime Minister and head of the PA negotiating team Ahmed Qureia concurred.

"There will be no peace agreement with Israel unless there is an agreement on Jerusalem," Qureia said.

"And there will be no state without Jerusalem. Olmert and the rest of the world must understand that Jerusalem is the core of the problem," he said.
