Iran Tests Rocket for Future Launch

CBNNews.com - TEHERAN - Iranian state-run television announced the successful test launch of its new Safir rocket, which it says will soon enable Iran to put a satellite in orbit.
The station broadcast pictures of Sunday's nighttime launch.
Israeli security officials said while the test indicated that Iran was honing its missile launching ability, it was no call for alarm.
According to MK (member of Knesset) Yitzhak Ben-Yisrael, former head of the Israel Space Agency, Iran still has a long way to go before it is able to launch a spy satellite.
"If Iran were to announce it had successfully launched a satellite into space, this claim could be verified within a day or two," Ben-Yisrael told Army Radio.
In a joint project with Moscow in 2005, Iran launched its first commercial satellite from a Russian-made rocket.
