Anglo Coalition Wants New Elections

CBNNNews.com - JERUSALEM, Israel - A recently formed organization, whose membership is made up of American immigrants in Israel, is calling for new elections.
The American Israeli Action Coalition (AIAC), which hopes to represent a quarter of a million Israelis, is proposing an interim unity government until a new government is elected.
AIPAC chairman Harvey Schwartz says the Israeli political system is not democratic.
"The current method for selecting [Prime Minister] Ehud Olmert's successor is not democratic in nature," Schwartz said.
"With no more than 70,000 members, many of whom recently joined [the party], Kadima represents less than 1 percent of the entire Israeli population. It is inconceivable that the next prime minister of Israel will be selected by such a miniscule percentage of the entire population," he said.
The group sponsored a demonstration across from the King David Hotel during Senator Barack Obama's visit to protest the Democratic candidate's "flip-flopping" on his original statement confirming Jerusalem as the eternal, undivided capital of the Jewish state.
