Thousands Protest Dems' Abortion Stance

CBNNews.com - Thousands of people gathered outside the Democratic National Convention in Denver Monday for a vigil against abortion.

The Archbishop of Denver says he held the event to protest Barack Obama's pro-choice position.

The audience took time to pray and sing. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s niece was one of the featured speakers.

Still, the Democratic Party is unwavering in its support of abortion.

The president of a pro-choice group says the right to terminate a pregnancy is one of the Democrat's "core moral values."

She added that the party also supports the right of a woman to raise her child or put the child up for adoption.
