The Stakelbeck on Terror Frontpage
The Council on American-Islamic Relations held a press conference today at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The event was held to announce the results of a supposedly nationwide poll held by CAIR.
According to CAIR's website, "the poll asked questions related to demographic profiles, political leanings and levels of social integration. The respondents were randomly drawn from a pool of some 400,000 registered Muslim voters." The results were largely unsuprising--American Muslims overwhelmingly disagree with the Iraq War, etc.
Also unsurprising was CAIR's refusal to allow CBN cameras into the event. This is the second time since 2004 that CAIR, which bills itself as the nations's foremost Muslim civil rights group, has barred CBN from covering one of its events. CAIR claims its because CBN is "biased against Muslims."
For an organization that claims to represent the American ideals of freedom of speech and expression, CAIR seems to have a quite totalitarian philosophy. What are they afraid of?
