Television is still a luxury for many people living in developing
nations.
One Nigerian man found a unique way to “share the wealth” and
the Gospel at the same time.
Cyprien loves his job teaching French to students in his village grammar
school in Nigeria. But Cyprien has an even deeper passion. “I felt
God’s call upon my life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the
world,” he says. “And I wanted to start with my neighbors and
my friends.”
Cyprien was watching CBN programs in his home when he was struck with an
idea. “I was blessed through the prayers, the testimonies, the Word
of God, and I wanted my neighbors and friends to experience the same blessing,”
says Cypriene.
Many of his neighbors could not afford television sets, so every week Cyprien
took his TV out to the streets while CBN programs were on the air! Soon
his community television viewing times turned into evangelistic meetings.
“Every week, I would gather people to watch the programs. Then I
would preach to them. The result was fantastic,” he says.
More than one hundred people received Jesus as their Savior during these
meetings and many more were miraculously healed. One person who came to
faith was Mr. Udele
“I was a family man,” says Mr. Udele. “I was married with
four children, but I was unfaithful. I would drink and smoke. But now I
did not drink again because Christ came into my life through the CBN program.”
“Thank you CBN,” says Cyprien. “Your programs have changed
many people’s lives! It’s wonderful!”
