Christians Targeted in Lebanon Political Attack
Two bombs exploded in buses in the small Christian village of Ain Alak
this week. At least three people were killed and 23 wounded.
Among the passengers were several female students going to Christian theology
classes.
Political violence has rocked Lebanon in the past two years. There have
been 15 bombings and six assassinations. On Feb. 7, a Christian ministry
in Beirut, reported that increased violence has Lebanese fearing another
civil war.
Christian Man Murdered in India
Three young men allegedly murdered a Christian man in his home in Kerala
State, India.
The men stood outside the home of Mr. S. Stanley and shouted slurs against
Jesus Christ. When Mr. Stanley told them to leave, the men became enraged
and invaded his home, stabbing him several times.
There have been no arrests in the case.
Pastor Arrested for Preaching to Muslims
In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, authorities have arrested a Christian pastor
on charges of preaching to Muslims.
Authorities in the mostly Muslim country said Dimitry Shestakov led an
underground church and was converting Muslims to Christianity.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.
Church Activist Released after Three Years
Authorities in Bejing, China, have released a house church activist who
had been imprisoned for three years.
Liu Fengang was convicted of “giving national intelligence to overseas
organizations” in 2004. Fengang had informed international religious
rights groups about the destruction of Chinese house churches.
